  • I like to read The Crayon Box that Talked By Shane DeRolf. I like this book because it allows me to introduce them into a lesson about hurt feelings and how words hurt etc. I also talk about how classroom is like a Crayon Box and we need to work together be a happy family. :)

  • A book I love to read to my kiddos is “Ordinary Oscar” by Laura Adkins, about a snail who wants to be anything but ordinary. It’s really cute – and teaches the kiddos a good lesson about the value of being themselves.

  • I haven’t read this one to my class before, but this year I’m going with There by Marie-Louise Fitzpatrick. It’s about a child who is wondering about the future and what things will be like. In the end, she decides she’ll go there tomorrow because she has a lot to do today. I’m going to use it for talking about short and long term goals.
